Chris Update 5/18/2010
Been forever but Joes sent me this update. Chris's nurse is also named Erin. It can get a bit confusing but daughter Erin is not a nurse but works at an insurance company.
Hi Jan!
Love to David and the boys.
Sorry I didnt call today with an update.
Chris slept a bit more soundly this a.m. no doubt as a result of her Sunday night treatment for constipation, cleansing vaginal area where catheter was implanted(which one hospice nurse never told Erin and I should be done on a daily basis) and lots of fluids for her increasingly high bellarubin(spl?) count. Two "pop ups" at 315a and 430a, no incidents.
Her Hospice charge nurse Erin came around 11 and was shocked when I told her about the 41/2 hour delay Sunday night. Said it can happen on weekends because the dispatchers are part timers and really bad. She checked Chris over, checked the catheter, brought a new mild constipation med. She said she'd be back Thursday. While checking Chris she said the jaundice is really running wild and that things are happening fast. As she left I asked her about the amount of time left. Erin said the doctor's "max six months" is off base; she has weeks, not months. She was quite tired today, but was up and alert for Erin the Nurse, her counselor, and Erin's return home from work. She's taking lots of liquid, loves Linda's tea but hasn't has solid food since early Sunday. We're just focused on making her comfortable and stress free.
Love, Joe

Merry Christmas
I don't think anyone reads this anymore. Could be because I never write anything. Anyway just in case someone happens upon my ranblings Merry Christmas. Along this same note, if anyone is reading this, could you please post a comment so I know. A simple "yah I'm here" would be fine. If I get any responses I'll try to write more consistantly. If not, I may stop altogether.

God Bless the child....
WHO AGREES TO WEAR THE SAME HALLOWEEN COSTUME AS LAST YEAR! Both my boys decided to be the same thing that they were last year. Jason is a Clone Trooper, and Jeff will be a Pirate Skelleton. I got a cool skul mask with funny hair at the 99c store and it goes so will with the pirate costume from last year he agreed to wear it. I got a bridal gown at the thrift store and will stomp around in that. I paid next to nothing for it and it fits so it will be fun. I too will wear a scarry mask.

Been Way too long
It has been WAY too long since I have posted an update. Not much has happened anyway so there ya go. It's thursday night and I'm bored. There is nothing to watch on TV on Thursday. I'm torn between QVC, Mall Cops and an I Love Lucy marathon. One would THINK with 80 million channels on cable + all the offerings On Demand I could find something more interesting to watch than Mall Cops, a reality show where they follow actual Mall Cops around the Mall of America. Have we actually come to this? Apparently we have. Anyone else out theres body toying with menopause? I have been bleeding, or should I say spotting since the beginning of Sept! I swear to mother mary when I get to heaven I am getting in line to Smack Eve. Menopause, or should I say Perimenopause SUCKS. And can't they rename it! Pause. I would prefer menoSTOP. Once this is finished I don't ever want to Meno again.

Mom is now a miniature
IN mom's southwest roombox she had a vase with a lid. I took about a teaspoon of her ashes (seriously it looks pretty much like oatmeal or gravel not the least bit ash like) and put them in said vase, and put them in the window of the room. She is now officially a miniature. Next week we go to LA and toss half in the ocean there, and I plan on dumping the rest in the ocean in Monterey. Then we are DONE. I'm sick of the whole thing honestly.

Kitty Litter anyone?
I got my mom back today. The lady opened up the very attractive plastic black box. (can ya say 99c store)I looked in to see what looked to ME like a bag of kitty litter. I swear it looks like either kitty litter or something found on the floor of Home Depot. I thought I would be all emotional and teary eyed, but it's hard to get weepy over a bag of kitty litter. There is absolutly NOTHING that remindes me of my mom in that box.(although I think I may have spotted a filling)Don't get all ewww on me, if you have saved your kids baby teeth it isn't any different. I honestly believe I will have zero trouble dumping said bag o' rocks into the ocean. I even get to hit Disneyland while I'm at it.
when I have time I'll relate how Jason lost 2 teeth at once which is a lot more gross
