Jan and Lisa's Most Excellent Trip to Disneyland part 2
The alarm went off at the butt crack of dawn and I was up by 5:45. I went into Lisa's room area and thank goodness she had already started the coffee. (I set it the night before.) She mocked me about bringing my own coffee junk but by the end of the trip was quite happy with my obsession with my own coffee as opposed to the junk the hotel provides. Lisa had the morning shows on, and we were shocked and horrified to learn that Ed McMan had died. WE pondered weather we should even go at that point, seeing as how we were sure the park would be closed, but decided we would cover ourselves in black and suffer thorugh the day as best we could. We had decided we wanted to be out the door by 7:15 and believe it or not we actually walked out the door at 7:15, tissues in hand. We tried to contain ourselves in our greef. The first photo you see of us here with our glasses on were actually covering up swelled poofy eyes from all the crying we did walking across the street. Had we KNOWN later that week that we would also lose Farah and Michael Jackson I'm sure Lisa would agree we would have cancled the trip right then and there and driven home. The shocking death of Ed aside, we were second in line at the gate. Once the park opened we went straight to Peter Pan and were the first ones on the ride for that day. We then hit Mr Toads wild ride and Pinocchio, and we walked through the newly redone Sleeping Beauty Castle. It was 8:15 by then and Lisa's shoes already gave her blisters. I made her stay at the Dumbo ride while I went to first aid to get her some bandages. The nurse was like "it's only 8:20 and you already have blisters??" "Yes, my friend decided to wear new shoes" Note to anyone: Never break in new shoes at Disneyland. Bandages in hand I headed back to Lisa, and they did the trick. For the next few hours we hit ride after ride while collecting Fast Passes. I had ADR's for Blue Bayou at 11:30. We had lunch then headed back to the hotel to rest and sit in the hot tub. While watching TV later that afternoon we learned that not only did Ed Mcman die but that Jon and Kate were getting a divorce. OMG will the horror of the day never end!! I dragged Lisa back out about 7 to start using our previously collected Fast Passes on the over crowded E ticket rides. We went on Space Mountain, which made Lisa sick, then Finding Nemo subs. After the subs Lisa went back to her room, I stayed late saw Fantasmic again, and rode a few more rides alone. I really like the park after Fantasmic. It's much quieter after all the people leave and it's quite pleasant. I wondered back to the room by about 11 and crashed. WE did not get up early the next morning. The next day we went to CA Adventure, had lunch, hit the hot tub and finished off the night at Disneyland where I made Lisa watch Fantasmic. Again I closed down the park and wondered back to the room by about 12:30. We drove home Wednesday morning. All in all a great trip. Photos to follow.
I alreay want to go back at Chrismas with Jason for our Birthdays. We'll see if Dave lets me.

Jan and Lisa's most excellent trip to Disneyland
Well Lisa and I had a wonderful time in Los Angeles save for one very irritating moment with my sister. More on that later. Once I actually got to leave my house everything went off without a hitch, however actually leaving my house was quite the ordeal. See, Dave went camping, at Sanborne, so I had to get him and the boys out the door, then I had to get my mom ready for Lorraine then I had to get myself out the door. I hate being the one in charge becasue by the time it came for me to concentrate on me I was so frazzled I couldn't concentrate and forgot some stuff. I finally managed to get to Lisa's house and we were off....to Milpitas. We stopped at Walmart then Jack in the box. It was well past 8:30 before we actually got out of San Jose. We arrived at beautiful happening Buttonwillow and were hit in the face with the God Awful flies and SMELL of cows. To quote Han Solo " what a wonderful smell you have discovered" I have stayed there 2 other times but it has never smelled before. We went to our room and were met with more flies and a huge moth. I was able to catch him (or her) and toss it outside, however we were left with the flies. It wasn't bad at night because they don't like the dark, but they woke us up early landing on our arms and face which tickeled. We left early but I guess one wanted to tag along because we had one in our car. We named him Jasper. Jasper pretty much went with us to Disneyland and I think I even saw him once we got back home. We swung by my sister's house for a quick visit and some lunch then we headed to Disneyland. She had a small melt down because she was telling me how to drive and I told her to knock it off. In an effort to not let the nonsense esculate I ate crow for lunch and apologized up the wazoo (for god know's what??) and she let it go.. as far as I know. I'm sure sometime down the line I will again catch Hell for my error but I'll deal with that later. Lisa is my witness, I did not "bitch her out" as I was told I did. Dealing with my mom is so much easier belive it or not. Once we left Ashbyland it was off to Disneyland. We arrived about 6:30 hauled our junk upstairs. I went to meet Leanna and Lisa just hung around the hotel to rest. Long story short, I was out with Leana until midnight closing downt he park and didnt' get to sleep until well after 2am. The alarm clock went off at 5:30. Ugg.

The layoff announcement
Dave called, his company has announced 10% layoffs sometime soon. He's hoping it's just the higher paid people but who knows. So far we have dodged the bullets but ya never know. I guess we would be ok with some creative cost cutting. I mean I am willing and able to get some kind of "get by" job assuming THERE IS ONE. I hear even the crapola jobs are hard to come by. I may end up selling onions in the streets.....
