Chris Update 5/18/2010

Been forever but Joes sent me this update. Chris's nurse is also named Erin. It can get a bit confusing but daughter Erin is not a nurse but works at an insurance company.

Hi Jan!
Love to David and the boys.
Sorry I didnt call today with an update.
Chris slept a bit more soundly this a.m. no doubt as a result of her Sunday night treatment for constipation, cleansing vaginal area where catheter was implanted(which one hospice nurse never told Erin and I should be done on a daily basis) and lots of fluids for her increasingly high bellarubin(spl?) count. Two "pop ups" at 315a and 430a, no incidents.
Her Hospice charge nurse Erin came around 11 and was shocked when I told her about the 41/2 hour delay Sunday night. Said it can happen on weekends because the dispatchers are part timers and really bad. She checked Chris over, checked the catheter, brought a new mild constipation med. She said she'd be back Thursday. While checking Chris she said the jaundice is really running wild and that things are happening fast. As she left I asked her about the amount of time left. Erin said the doctor's "max six months" is off base; she has weeks, not months. She was quite tired today, but was up and alert for Erin the Nurse, her counselor, and Erin's return home from work. She's taking lots of liquid, loves Linda's tea but hasn't has solid food since early Sunday. We're just focused on making her comfortable and stress free.
Love, Joe
